    Remington model 8

As anybody ever seen one of these my local dealer has one in that someone is selling it's a beautiful semi auto in 25 Remington with a nice looking peep sight they are asking $500.00 for it. And another thing I know this rifle predates the AK rifle but it looks like the exact same same safety lever as the AK.

The Remington Model 8 is a great rifle and worth more than that, from what you've posted.

If it is in excellent condition, then $500 would be alright Cash&Carry, but that is a little much for a dealer, in my opinion.

Big reason is that 25 Remington is not a caliber anyone makes in any great quantity anymore.

Yep the Model 8 is a great rifle! Like Emdawg says no one makes 25 Remington anymore but $500 is about the price I see them going for now days no matter the cartridge it's chambered for.
Check out The Great Model 8 website its loaded with info. According to blue book of values on that site + 25% premium for 25 Remington.

Designed by John Browning and chambered in .25, .30, .32, and .35 Remington auto, all calibers of ammo except the .35 have been out of production for a long time and are difficult to find. I have a .32 and I buy every old box of ammo I find at gun shows. I even bought a bag of loose rounds. I have also bought ammo on Gunbroker.com, and it isn't cheap. If you plan on shooting one get a .35 Remington.

It breaks down for easier transportation

          Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

I have a model 81A in .35 Rem. The model 8 introduced in 1900 in 1936 Remington came out with the model 81. Pretty much the same rifle different furniture.

Since I logged on and ask you gentlemen about the model 8 I have been researching on the net your all right about it being a great rifle and what a history it apparently has being a hunting rifle, special police rifle with 15 round magazines and one of the rifles used to take down Bonnie & Clyde in the ambush, only I think that one was 35 rem anyway thanks for the reply's today I'm going to take a closer look at it if I don't get it I know I'll regret it.

They don't always pop up for sale locally. I didn't hesitate when I saw the rifle I bought. I looked too long at them and always told myself if one came up for sale I would buy it. Oh they do kick a little.
