need help with getting a scope for my mosin

Ok ,so my mosin is made in 1938 and I want to have a period correct repo scope for it...I'm pretty sure the PE scope is the correct one. am I right or does it not matter? I'd really prefer the pu scope though...because it won't be mounted on top of the chamber ( I don't tinker at all near chambers) thanks

It's a pe, I got mine years ago from accumounts. Google, they are probably still in buisness. They were German made repros, and would even add your serial number on it.

i would go with the PE. PU is more work and not perioud correct.

Actually, I made a pu, with a hand drill and dremel, worked great, when I made the pe, I needed a gunsmith to drill and tap the mount as I don't have a drill press.

I believe a Side Mount PEM would be correct for that year.

Dam lol pe is more expensive...300$ shipped ( I found an accumount version of the pu that sold for 200$) ...actually, that's not too bad I guess considering some other scopes I've bought. I think I'll just have to go with accumounts scope. I've looked around a lot and found that the cheaper ones REALLY suck! I'll order one once my shotgun sells.
