I went down and took a look at the M95. It was pretty nice, usual surplus rifle look. If I wasnt so in debt I would have bought one. What do you think the chances are of finding one with nazi marks on it?Originally Posted By CTbuilder1 @ arfcom:

I wouldn't count it out but its the 98 model that was the nazi era weapon. Though most of the orig nazi rifles were destroyed after the war to prevent an insurgency.
You can still buy 8mm Mauser ammo nazi stamped.Last edited by VeryCoolCat; 05-07-2006, 4:59 PM.Originally posted by KestryllThe volume of blood necessary to achieve erection would cause you to either pass out or if you didn't and managed to maintain an erection you would likely die from lack of oxygen to the heart and brain.Originally posted by ivanimalJust be glad you are not his next door neighbor. Looks nice. I think this is the one, posted about several weeks ago. How's the availability for the ammo, 8x56R?Comment

These rifles where all built well before the Nazi's took over in Austria, Hungary and Bulgaria. They probably weren't even refurbished during the Nazi era because they were not a first line weapon. So I don't think any of them have Nazi markings on them. The Austrian surplus 8x56R ammo however was made during the Nazi era and does have the Nazi eagle on the headstamp.Originally posted by superhondaz50What do you think the chances are of finding one with nazi marks on it?
SOG still lists it as available on their web site...Originally posted by highspeed11How's the availability for the ammo, 8x56R?
You should probably try to get as much as you can because it most likely won't be easy to find in the future. Buffalo Arms sells reloading components for this caliber as well as newly manufactured Hornaday ammo. It is pricey though.__________________

In addition to the scarcity of reloadable brass and data, the 8X56R is NOT the standard 8mm bullet diameter of .323". It has a rather unique .329" groove diameter barrel. Standard .323"- 8mm bullets skip down the barrel. Either you can buy swaging dies and swage .338" bullets down or I believe Hornady is markets some 206gr bullets in .329" dia, but I haven't seen any yet.Luck favors the prepared.
The original battle plan did not survive initial contact with the enemy.

The only reason I asked was because I saw an M95 at one of my local shops that had a bunch of nazi proofs on it. Was selling for $399, should have bought it!What do you think the chances are of finding one with nazi marks on it?Originally Posted By CTbuilder1 @ arfcom:

You might need to ask that question on one of the M95 or straight-pull specific forums at Gunboards or Parallaxbill's. Those guys would have a lot more info about that. The M95 was used in Nazi Germany (Austria), so I suppose one could have been rearsenalled and stamped at some time. It may even have been common. But there are also a lot of people stamping fake Nazi proof marks on stuff. I've heard that this latest batch of M95's came out of Bulgaria and that's also where the fake Nazi stamped Star Model B pistols came from.Originally posted by superhondaz50The only reason I asked was because I saw an M95 at one of my local shops that had a bunch of nazi proofs on it. Before you spend that much on an M95 you should get some real expert advice.Last edited by Mssr. Eleganté; 05-07-2006, 9:33 PM.__________________
