CMP ammo order - fast turn-around

Looks like the CMP isn't having a problem with supplying the Greek HXP 30-06 ammo. I ordered 2 cans of 200 on 10/18, and received notice that they shipped today.

Gotta go make room in the bunker.........

Something about having 10 cans of HXP in reserve is just awesome. I am scrounging for every round of 30-06 ball I can find.

Sent all required info for any purchase since i havent bought from them for maybe 8 years or so.
Just got DBU email yesterday and was wondering when i should expect shipment. Good to know it may be less than advertised .

Arrived today.

The cans look like they were taken off a sunken barge, but the ammo inside is clean and relatively shiny. All have link marks, and there are 1 or 2 marked with RA 54 head-stamps.

Addendum..................

Digging through all 400 sorting them out finds a lot of grunge and black tar looking stuff on many of the cases/bullets. More than a few rounds are significantly dented.

It took me a while to get them reasonably clean, and it was a pain in the *** getting the tar anf grit off the brass. Tarnish I can put up with, but tar and grit is not good for the chamber and needs to be cleaned off. The headstamps are mostly mid/late 70's and about 1/3 of the ammo is from 1963 - 1966. Mixed in were about 50 or so RA headstamps, and one wierd looking one that I do not recognize - it looks odd and old and will be discarded.

I guess at about 50 cents/each I can't complain, but it is not the quality of ammo I expected to get from the CMP.

At any rate - it is now all as clean as it is going to get, sorted, and loaded into enbloc clips for future use.

Order for Greek 30-06 and a couple of cases of 22 hit the e-store Monday.
any idea when those should be expected to show up on a truck?

The 30-06 is shipping within several days of the order - can't say about the .22.

I'd be interested in the condition of your HXP ammo - mine was sorta iffiy.

I placed an order for a can of HXP on Saturday at the E-store. Posting here to track the ETA. Assuming this ammo is in shootable condition and safe for Garands it is the best deal going right now.
