    C&R sticky maybe?

So I'm interested in getting my C&R. But the current one seems to be about 8 pages. How about one with step by step with FAQs. From what I gather. Send out the application to ATF. ( and cert of compliance) Section 11 doesn't apply to to US personfso leave it blank or put n/a ? One copy goes to your CLeO...is that baca? Or would that be my local sheriffs station captain or whatever? After I receive the license I need to apply for a COE and do the live scan... What are all the forms that need to be filled out? I'm thinking a sticky titled " the C&R license process for calgunners" what say you ..yay or nay? I always see threads popping up about Coe , ATF form ...

If you call 911 from your home, who would respond? If it is a local Police department, address it to the Chief of that department. If it is the county Sheriff dept, send it to the Sheriff.

I think the sticky is a good idea.

I agree, a sticky would be valuable to those filling out the paperwork.

12-31-2013. Law goes into effect 1-1-2014.

For the OP, you don't need to wait for your 03 FFL to get your COE. It is completely separate and you can get it at any time.

I am not in LA County but here is their address. It's really just a formality and you won't hear anything back from them. You don't even need to find out if they get it or no.

The local PD i sent mine to did call me back. The officer did not know why I sent it to them and asked if I was starting a business. I said no and politely explained the requirement and that no action was needed on their part. That was that.

Thats why I put a cover letter on mine explaining all that.

                          Dear Chief Whoever:

I am applying to the BATF for a Curios and Relics Federal Firearms License (C&R FFL).

Please find enclosed one signed copy of ATF F 5300.36 notifying you of my intent to do so, pursuant to Section 923(d)(1), Title 18, U.S.C.

Further please note that a C&R FFL is not a regular dealer FFL, and will not allow me to operate as a dealer. It is simply for private collecting of certain firearms defined as curios or relics by the BATF.

This is only a courtesy notice and requires no action on your part.

                          Sincerely,

                          Comment
