    WW2 Pornography

I am starting to build up a collection of WW2 era firearms. So far I have a Czech VZ 24 1939(from what I can tell) and a Mosin Nagant 91/30 Tula 1943 Ex sniper. So far I love them both although I have yet to shoot them both, but to be fair I just bought the Mosin from a fellow calgunner (thanks again). Both bores are very bright and have great rifling. Now what you clicked on this for:

    Both

    Mosin

Mauser there are no markings beside the TR serial number and a tiny marking above it.

Awesome! I really want to get into old rifles but the PPR seems too high for me. Are spam cans of ammo for these types of rifles readily available or hard to come by?

for years I collected ww2 stuff, finally got rid of all foreign stuff (Mosins,Tokerev SVT 40,enfield,Sten,Mauser) and concentrated on US stuff, actually Springfield Armory guns(trapdoors,30/40 krag,1903 ect) Liquidated most of that to concentrate on WW 2 US stuff. Ahh the ebb and flow of gun collecting. The thrill of the hunt. Ive calmed down the last few years, mainly because nice pieces are very hard to find these days.(or crazy expensive)

On the mauser have you pulled the action from the stock?

Markings may possibly be on the bottom of the barrel.

Nice Eastern WWII era porn. I only have two WWII era rifles so far, my K31 and M1 carbine. All my other C&Rs are from the 1950's.

With a "TR" serial number prefix, the Vz.24 is a Romanian contract.

Why is there such a great variety it condition when it comes to VZ 24s? I mean this in the sense that while many have had either the Czech or Romanian crest removed, by the Russians I am assuming, some seem to never have been reblued. This is unique in that the Russians did a consistent job of reblueing their Mosins and K98s and other various small arms.

The rumor (or urban legend) behind the Romanian VZ 24s is that Antonescu had the royal crests removed when he came to power and the blue was stripped due to the fact that the Romanian soldiers used to put anti-freeze on them on the eastern front.
