Chicom SKS Zeroed Straight out of the Cosmoline

My Type 56 SKS was perfectly zeroed after I got it cleaned up. What about yours? Is this a common experience with milsurp SKS rifles?

Mine is quite a bit off, for 69$ I never cared that much. I know where I need to be to hit with it. I need to take it out again and fix that, I haven't shot it in years, been busy with other projects.

Mine is high and right at 100 yards but consistent. I just bought a front sight adjustment tool but have not had a chance to adjust it yet.

Spot on at 30 yards. Haven't had a chance at 100 yards yet. I'm confident the rifle will do it's thing... it's me that is the "x" factor.

Mine is high to the left about 10". Soaking the pin in machine oil caise its frozen. Ill get it there in the black spot soon
You got the adjusting tool with the 45 degree chamfer? That one won't damage your front site

                  Awesome!!

If you don't mind me askin', where did you get it?
I guess it just depends on the gun.

I bought it at my LGS. Not clear which distributor it came from, but it has an IO Inc. importer's mark on the barrel. Didn't I read in one of these threads that Classic Firearms SKS's are IO imports? If anyone knows, would love to have that confirmed.

Regardless of the importer, one of the great intrigues of owning a mil-surp weapon is wondering who owned it before you. Where did it see duty? What sort of action did it see? Wouldn't it be great to be able to meet the soldier who owned it before you? Whatever the rifle's history, the guy that owned it before me knew how to zero an SKS.

Classic still has those SKS' s for sale, wonder when their supply will run out.

30 yards? Sure you will be "on spot". If you are not having as well as luck at 100 yards and shots are scattered along with some flyers, be sure the to check the nut behind the stock.

Also, the ammo you are using can make a difference. Are you reloading?
