    Greek HXP

Placed my order for some Greek HXP rounds when I ordered my M1 Garand. Just curious if there's anywhere other than BLM land in Southern California to shoot the stuff.

I was considering pulling the bullets and reloading them with some I ordered from wideners awhile back, but thought it might be a waste. Not planning a trip out to the desert for awhile so I was wondering if there would be any other options.

Wait until its wet seasons and head over to Burro Canyon range.

Why is certain ammunition not allowed at certain times? How can I check to see if the ammunition is allowed?
Steel-jacketed and bi-metal ammunition is not allowed during the dry months of the year due to fire danger. However, we do allow this ammunition to be used during the wet season. The wet months vary from year to year and we will inform you of the start and finish of each season. You can check your ammunition for the presence of steel by touching a magnet to the bullet. Keep in mind that both tracer (orange tip) and steel-core (green tip) ammunition is never allowed.

This is a nice range down South that has no restrictions on ammo...

Are you able to police your own brass at Raahauges in Corona?

^^^^ Mid week is usually a good time to go. I was allowed to police my own brass so I think so.

Yeah, Raahauges you can do pretty much whatever you want. It is a great place, a little pricey at $30 per person but you can get a pretty private experience if you show up at the right time. I only go during the weekends but early in the morning usually is not very busy on the rifle side at least.
