COE=I know who you are= possible confiscation

I was thinking about getting a COE but opted out for this exact reason.
For those of you getting your C&R and a COE, did you take this into consideration?

There are no guarantees of anything, but if you are serious enough about guns to know what a COE is and to be contemplating getting one, you are probably already on whatever list you were hoping to avoid by passing on a COE. If you want to collect C&R guns after 1/1/14 and plan to buy more than one or two, I think you should get one along with a C&R FFL.

Be real. If you own any handguns, the State already knows who you are for confiscation. If you have an FFL03, the State already knows who you are for confiscation. If you believe, as most of us do, that DROS and 4473 already have an easily traceable paper trail and possibly a digital record, even though the government isn't supposed to keep that on file, the State already knows who you are for confiscation.

If you ONLY own F2F Cash and Carry un-papered C&R long guns and those are the only guns you have ever owned, I suppose you could have a point. But for most us, we were on their radar a decade or two ago. The key to California is creeping incrementalism, I don't see black helicopters of SWAT teams coming to disarm you. I do see "oh, the State owes you this much on your tax return but our records show you own an illegal gun so until you show us proof of disposal or you surrender it, no tax refund, no car registration, etc. for you." The state does want us disarmed, but it will be too broke to send out squadrons of confiscation squads to take our guns. Much cheaper, easier and safer to just make our lives unbearable unless we conform with their tyranny than to break down our doors. Have you ever heard of the term, "soft tyranny"?
