    Selling C&R Rifles

When you sell a C&R rifle do you make the buyer sign a document stating that they are legally able to own firearms?

    Thanks,

If I were selling to a non-FFL I would, just to be covered. Make sure you get their driver's license #, too.

In the absence of a FFL yes, and DL and a utility bill or car registration to prove residency. You can sell to a resident of your state who is not a FFL, but you have to be sure of that residency. If selling out of state, the buyer has to be 03 FFL or better.

Thats why I don't do the transfer of over 50 year old C&R long guns that often without a PPT thru a dealer very often. I can't see handing over my DL info to a complete stranger that knows I have a houseful of guns most likely for a $100 Mosin Nagant or something.

When you do a DROS the buyer can ask the FFL for a copy of the DROS which also includes all your info. Many here do as a way to keep a record of the guns they've purchased.

I've seen FFL dealers cut off or black out the personal info when doing so sometimes though.
