    James River Armory

I have been contemplating sending my Garand to them for their restoration process. Have read many good things about their work but was wanting to hear from anyone here that had personal experience with them.

Located in Michigan. He did have a 5 day turn around time (which is unheard of ) but do believehe is allittle backed up now.
Give Tim a call and ask him. If you get his answering machine he will call you back the same day. He wants his customers to call

I'll do that, wonder if I can just send the metal parts or whole rifle needs to go?

I sent one of mine to James River last year. It was a beater that I wanted to look pretty. Repark, new barrel and new stock. $400ish and right around a 3 week turn around.

I bought an 03A3 from them that was a recovered drill rifle. I loved it... AWESOME job on their part. Absolutely recommended.

How does that effect the value?

If you want a "like new" Garand order a Service Grade HRA (Harrington & Richardson) Special from the CMP. When you get it, sell your current Garand.
It will most likely cost you less in the long run.
