91/30 with a cutdown stock, a bent bolt and a blade front sight? Is that a double struck arrow?

Thanks guys, was kinda what I was afraid of. I know my dad wouldn't have done all this to it but it explains why it sat back in the closet and didn't see much of the light of day. Any idea on a value?

            Yup, a sporterized 91/30

I would speculate that this is/was a Spanish Civil War specimen

Stock may be from a duffle cut and I see the DDR mark on receiver east Germany.

Gi's used the duffle cut to shorten the stocks to get them into their duffle bags in order to get them back home. IMHO.

How many Mosin's do you think were captured in our war with East Germany?

Look on the bottom of the barrel for an import mark.

Seeing as none of the numbers match and the stock is cut down, I wouldn't pay more than $100-$125 personally. Sounds like a good gun to keep as a shooter.

I don't see any marks on the receiver at all. I do see marks on the barrel shank, but it looks more like an Izhevsk arrow in a triangle than a DDR mark.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

                            This^^

It was probably imported in the late 50's along with a lot of other SCW stuff.

                            As to value, $75-maayybbee $100.

No reason it couldn't be a good shooter though.
