That looks like an awkward rifle to shoot. I'd imagine quite alot of recoil too.

Interesting. The original pistol grip rifle? And is that a rear sight post? That might be kinda weird to shoot.

that's really neat, but could definitely be hazardous to the user! how many have hit themselves in the nose with the rear of the bolt on these or many other milsurps? I know I have.

Agreed it is a horrible idea in general, but just seems "cool". And yes, it's interesting to note they added the pistol grip to avoid the top of your thumb being sliced open while firing.

Interesting! The Charleton auto rifle was a Lee-Enfield turned into a full auto rifle. John Browning turned a Winchester 73 into a semi auto rifle. Just about anything can be done with enough time and money.

There was a lot of experimentation during the Pre-Depression years.

Eventually it was found that it was wiser to build a design from scratch rather than convert bolt-actions.

I have a Steyr M95 carbine and the recoil is harsh, I can image the recoil on that bad boy! My shoulder is hurting just thinking about it!

don't forget the Pedersen device on the 1903's. i'm sure there's others we're forgetting but I don't feel like leafing through small arms of the world tonite. maybe in the morning during "daddy time" in the bathroom. (get your minds out of the gutter a-holes) lol.

If I remember correctly they also made Pedersen devices for the M1917 and the American M91 Mosin Nagants, but the devices and rifles for them are so rare, they never appear.
