    Portuguese Mausers

Has anyone had experience with the 1904/39? I was thinking about getting one.

They were converted from 6.5 Vergueiro to 8mm, so I am concerned how the Mauser-Vergueiro action will handle the higher pressure.

    Anyone?

Would like a M1937, but those generally are out of the old price range.

They will handle the pressure just fine. Some of them have tighter chambers than others, but they can handle the 8x57 with no problems at all. They are some of the best "mauser" rifles ever made in terms of quality and finish.
