    Winchester model 68 value

I was given one of these earlier today and was wondering what I could get for it.

It's a .22 single shot bolt action, The wood and metal is in fairly good shape, I'd say 95%. It works flawlessly and cleans up nicely.

    Value?

you need to find a Winchester .22 collector; one MIGHT pay as much as $300 for a really great example with the peepsight intact, I think. Otherwise it's just another .22 single shot, great for a kid or utility or auld lang syne. Maybe $175???

Check to see if it's chambered for .22 WRF; some were and they command a premium with .22 collectors.

The peep sight is kinda neat; people like it when it's workable. The sights are the only thing besides the model marking that differentiates the 68 from the much more common 67.

If you're really interested in selling, I'd check the online auctions for Model 68 SOLD auctions. Asking prices don't really tell you much and I haven't found that "Bluebook" prices are any real indication of what you can get. Perhaps try finding a Winchester Collectors website that has a free classifieds where you can list the gun, or a state or local gun collectors assn. With a gun like that, a private party deal with an individual who really wants the gun is essential; a dealer's fee or markup won't leave much for you.

I'd keep it; once won an "Offhand/Iron Sights" only shooting match with mine at my local sportsman's club in upstate NYS. But you gotta get used to that "half-hour trigger"....

Model 68 is C&R, by the way, which sometimes helps with sales.

I have a 67. Accurate as anything. I redid the stock and put marbles bullseye rear sight on it. They're really not collectors per se, but they are fun to shoot. Keep it and shoot it.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
