The rear sight on a recently acquire Star Super has come loose and has become pretty wiggly and slides around though it looks like its not in danger of falling off. What is the best fix for this problem? Its a simple dovetail design. I know from experience with front sights on Mosin Nagants that simply tapping the dovetail to decrease the free space is the best method of tightening a loose sight. Would this be the best solution for my Star's problem? Or would using loctite be just as affective?

If the dovetail isn't buggered, 3 light strikes with a center punch across the center bottom of the dovetail. One in the middle, one near each edge.
I said "light" strikes! What you are doing is raising the metal in the bottom of the dovetail. You want enough that the sight has to be tapped in, not beaten in. If you get it to tight, take a small triangle needle file and take a little off the top of the strike points.
Support the slide on a soft block of wood when you do it.
