    P38

This was on my wish list and I found one at a nearby LGS for a great price so it is now in jail.
Don't ask me why C&R pistols are drossed. But oh well. 9 more days....

They have a very heavy double action. Cool find, what maker is it?

Yes but SA feels ok. It's a 1942 Mauser.

I believe with a C&R permit and a COE you can walk out of the door with this pistol - I have three FFL's that are good with this arrangement.

Be careful, the P38 bug is contagious, and they are in my opinion one of the best investments out there.
Look carefully and matching, wartime (non refurbished) P38's are available for $600 and less - this will not be the case for long.
Find a nice wartime holster for it, and spare wartime mag, and you have a nice set.

For your first P 38 you got a home run. The byf42 is a very desired gun. It sells for over $1k just for a average finish non import. Does it have any stamped internal parts.

I don't know yet. It will be in jail until next Tuesday. I did a field strip in the lgs and all serial numbers matched.
The 10 day waiting period is both agonizing and anticipatingly fun.
It was dirty like it had been in storage for many years. If only it could tell it's story. Obviously a bring back.
I will update this thread with better pictures and more info next week after a good cleaning.
