What I found with my Garret AT Gold...these count as C&R for sure.

When I go to the mountains, I bring my metal detector.
Some of those bullets are from an old black powder revolver I think. The best I could gather is that they are .41 in diameter.

Found the 30-06 cartridge about 3 inches in the mud along a lake shore. It is stamped 43.

Of course you would recognize the 45 ACP.

The mushroomed bullet still has animal tissue in within the mushroomed lead and jacket. Interesting.

Some old as the hills .22 rounds. I found these about 6-8 inches down, so they must be pretty old.

    Cool stuff.
I wonder what cracked the neck on the .30-06? Did someone reload a little too much?

It's funny because it took a few seconds for me to realise the words "Garret AT" and "Gold" were on the wrong forum! lol

Nice to see other MDer's on Calguns! I myself hunt the goldfields with a Minelab GPX 4000 and White's GMT.

I'll tell ya, I'll be a rich man when the price of lead goes up!

Nice digs. If you want to find plenty old 'stuff' continue mining the C&R forum!

Try to find some maps that show the location of gold rush mining camps and detect there. You will find some really neat pieces of history.
