    2014 Long Gun Reg Fee

Will we be able to register multiple long guns with one single self reporting fee? I think this would impact mosin collector that like to purchase crate of mosin at once.

    Thanks

If it's like the handgun registration it will be $19 per gun.

I don't know of a limit on the number of long guns you can purchase on a single DROS. The info sent to the DOJ is your info for the background check, not the gun info (at least not how it's done today). As long as something doesn't change with their procedures on 1/1/14, buying a crate of Mosin's shouldn't cost you more.

Here is the DROS form http://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/pd...forms/dros.pdf at the top it asks for the number of long guns so you could fill in as many as you want for the one DROS fee.

DROS has nothing to do with 03 FFLs importing C&R long guns into the state.
Those of us with 03FFLs currently do not DROS long guns that we have shipped to us, buy from private parties or bring in from out of state, we simply record them in our Bound Book.
The purpose of this new law is to register long guns just like they do with handguns. Handguns now require a separate DROS with the serial number listed, next year long guns will be the same. Those of us that are able to have long guns shipped or purchase from a private party after the first of the year will have to register each one via a C&R report form just like the one that is now required when we import handguns. That form currently requires each firearm to be listed separately and the fee is $19 per firearm.

            Thanks.

Yes, I should clarify that my question only pertain to 03FFL.

That form currently requires each firearm to be listed separately and the fee is $19 per firearm.
If this turn out to be true, this would pretty much kill all mosin crate sales to CA.
