Can we have a FFL03 + COE 2014 discussion?

Hello fellow C&R devotees!

I sent off my COE to go along with my FFL03 last week. The $91 total cost seemed pretty steep, so I hope I can make good use of it.

So...is it fairly certain that after January 1st a FFL03 + COE means that we can:

1. Still purchase C&R long guns directly via internet to our homes.
2. 50 year rule no longer in effect (i.e. Yugo SKS, Albanian SKS, etc)
3. Once we receive firearm we self register with the state and pay $19

I personally don't get any benefit from the '1 handgun per 30 day' COE exemption, but if that is a plus for other COE holders that is great.

I have enough modern long guns that I may never buy another once registration kicks in, but I am way too interested in milsurp guns to stop chasing those next year...

I hope that sellers online would continue to do business with their pre-2014 customers, at the very least.

I assume some vendors will have no problem and will be applying for my COE soon.

Another advantage of the COE + FFL03 is that you can buy any C&R firearm (handgun or long gun) from your LGS and take it home the same day. You still have to pay DROS but no jail time.

does having a COE give the state (CA) the ability to audit your collection?

I know the BATFE can audit me with my 03 FFL. Just curious about the CA DOJ etc also knocking on my door.

I've never heard that. Lot's of people besides C&R collectors have the COE like gun store employees.

Its the 03 that gives them the right to audit your C&R's and books. COE is just another background check.

And the worst part is that we're bending over backwards to comply and follow all these stupid fcuking rules, while the criminal element couldn't care less. I guess it's too difficult to tax criminals, so they go after us, CUN+$!
