    War damaged SKS anyone?

Just got an email from Allan's Armory. He's selling a war-damaged Yugo SKS.

Take a look at the pictures!

It's not for me, but interesting. I guess if you want your rifle to have a "history" this one qualifies.

    Bobby, you on it?

Saw a pic of that one a few days ago. Looks like it got hit by a claymore or something similar.

      Claymore or shotgun?

Hand Grenade, the late model ones they used over there had a plastic outer shell and where filled with either 2,000 or 3,000 BB's I forget exactly.

i have a ARMY buddy that did all the proper paper work and brought back a SKS from Vietnam in 1970. i was talking to him around Christmas time and just then found out. he said he still has it and the paper work. Unfortunately he lives in Connecticut.

I think it's really cool. If I had the money that'd be the perfect wall hanger for a man cave.

It's strange to me that people actually want to collect these kind of rifle. I remember I was in Big 5 a few years ago looking at some WW2 Japan rifle. While I was looking over the rifle, I can't help wonder if that particular bayonet was used to stab infant during the raid in the city of Nanking Massacre. If so, I'm not sure I want to bring such object home. Bad juju.

You would have to neuter it with a sleeve over that GL before bringing it into California.

Then I think you should avoid the C&R threads altogether.

Any K98, Arisaka, Chinese SKS, or Civil War musket could have been used against American troops as well. Nobody knows what their milsurp rifles did in their former lives. The evil deeds reside in the soldier who carried the gun, not the gun itself. It is just an inert chunk of wood and metal until acted upon by human hands.

                              This.

If anything, I am redeeming the weapon by making sure it stays in the hands of a responsible non-murderer.

If the price was suffuciently low and the bore condition VG or better it might make a good bargain shooter. Metal refinishing can be done cheaply as well as abundant options for a stock found here on the interslice.
