    modern muzzle loader

Do you still need to go thought a FFL to buy a modern muzzle loader? or is that C&R since its black-powder rifle?

They are not C&R. Black powder muzzle loaders are "antiques". They are not even considered firearms under federal law. They are considered firearms under California law, but they are exempt from California's dealer transfer requirements. So you can have them shipped right to your door, even from an out of state seller.

Keep in mind that there are a few modern black powder muzzle loaders that are built on actual firearm receivers and these don't qualify as antiques.

Walked out of Sportsmans Warehouse today with one. 4 minute wait was complied with waiting for a saleperson.
Definitely no DROS or any paper of any sort. Especially when using greenbacks.
