    Commemorative SKS?

I would like to know what the C&R crowd thinks of this:

    Expensive but interesting...

If OPs story is true then I wouldn't call an unissued rifle a "war trophy" , but still a pretty interesting history.

Pretty neat...but not the kind of stuff for me. They took an unissued and killed the stock! In my opinion, if you are trying to achieve the "war trophy" look, go all the way, not just half *** it. The work is nice on it though, not gonna lie. I'd be to tempted to pull that charging handle...

That's been around for some time now. It's a wall hanger. You already have originals Bobby. This one was just all dressed up. Companies can slap these things together in no time. Maybe that veteran that is not a collector may think its cool, but does not care and will never fire it. It kind of reminds me of those commemorative 1911's or John Wayne and other commemorative Winchester rifles.

I agree with 0321jarhead. It's meant to be a wall hanger that you just look at. Not sure why they have changed the stock, it would have looked more correct to have it in a nice period wood stock. To me, it's not worth the cost just because of what it is (or supposed to be). You have better SKSs in your collection, especially the unicorn honor guard one.

Seriously? I agree with Capybarra. Its an abomination. Looks like they spray painted the stock w/BBQ paint.

Bubba'd by an individual or bubba'd by a company, what's the difference? Ranks right up there with the commemorative whatever from America Remembers and colorized $2 bills.

This is a Bubba'd safe queen. I just don't get it.

Further more if it is a "REAL" bring back from Viet Nam, the seller should have the original form DD 603, Registration of War Trophy Firearms.

It might find its way on the wall of a Man Cave/War Room of somebody that perhaps is a Viet Nam Vet. The problem I have is, its not an American rifle. ....I love SKS's and have a few but this "Trophy Edition" stuff I have mixed feelings about. I would be more interested in Commemorative 1911, M14 or M16, guns that our G.I. used. My $.02 FWIW. ...but for the right price I would buy it.

They just made an ugly rifle uglier.

Thanks all for the input. I wasn't going to try to buy it. It just seemed unusual and something I hadn't seen before. Definitely not my style but I hope the OP gets top dollar on it (non threadcrapping disclaimer).
