what does a COE do for me?
    WTB Irish firearms:
old SxS shotguns, Enfields (Irish contract or FF marked), RIC marked carbines or revolvers, odd ball flintlocks.

It allows you to bypass the 10 day waiting period and also the 30 day limit on handgun purchases.

IIRC, it only bypasses the 10-day wait period on C&Rs, not modern stuff, if you have a C&R FFL.

But it does exempt you from the 30-day limit on ALL handgun purchases if you have the C&R FFL.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

            Thanks for the link.
I've been thinking about a COE for awhile.

There isn't really anything to think about it - just do it. It's kinda nice to be able to walk out of a store with a gun the same day.

NB: A COE needs to be used in conjunction with a C&R to enjoy these benefits.

But that cash-carry deal only works on C&R stuff, right? Not for modern stuff? If it did, I'd definitely have to get my COE. As it is with 2062, I may end up needing to get the COE anyways.

Yes. No 10-day wait on C&R stuff only from a CA 01-FFL dealer.
Still have to wait 10 days on modern stuff.

Would a COE in conjunction w/ a C&R allow one to purchase C&R handguns directly, or would they still have to go to an FFL 01?

And would you be able to purchase and carry a C&R handgun same day?

YOu should be able to. a C&R/COE does exempt you from the waiting period for all C&R purchases but you still have to DROS it. Now, if the FFL is not familiar with the exemption, they may not let you bypass the wait.

Did my prints, sent in the COE and also did the C&R as well.

Best money I've spent in a while, now just the wait on the apps to be processed.
