Garand Project, need info

I purchased a Springfield Receiver 2640xxx
which puts it at Mar 44.

I am going to start acquiring all Springfield USGI parts however
wasn't sure if I needed to stick within a specific range of years or not.

From 1937 to 1945 are there any revisions I should be aware of?

Get a book like The M1 Garand:World War II by Scott A. Duff. It goes into great detail about identification of parts and modifications/variations. There's a lot of them.

Another great book is The M1 Garand, 1936-1957, 4th Edition (Paperback), this book takes each and every part. And one by one, one part at a time tells you by each part's serial number, what year it was made, what it looks like etc.

Actually I'm still waiting for "The M1 Garand:World War II by Scott A. Duff"
Seemed nobody carried it locally, had to order from Midway. Should be here Monday.
