    Westinghouse M91

I have just won the lottery in the C&R world... A Westinghouse M91 with U.S. proof marks, unmolested.

I am completely ignorant on the curio and relic gun world unfortunately, but a huge congrats as it looks to be an absolutely beautiful rifle.

Yup, not the typical soviet junk. Quality on the Americans are top notch. Oh and this is coming from a Ukrainian by the way

Very nice. Reminds me of my 1895 Izhevsk.

Now all you need is a Remington and a Chatellerault M91 and then you can really brag.

I ran across a Remington about a year ago...didn't know much about C&R's, but was very interested. I passed it up because I didn't know what I was looking at, I was so pissed, kicking myself everyday lol. Those damn Finns screwed them all up! It's like finding a needle in a haystack.

What's wrong with the Finns? They took better care of their stock of M91's than any of the other old Imperial countries did, especially better than Soviet Russia.

Mine is a Finn SA stamped and it is in marvelous shape.

The Finns only changed parts they had to. If it has a Finn stock, chances were that the old Walnut one was beat to hell or broke. Same with metal parts and the barrels.

Remember they actually fought with these rifles.

Wow! That is the nicest Westinghouse M91 I have ever seen! I remember walking into a LA shop called Sherwood International that had racks and racks of US made M91s. All under $80 each. Sadly back in the late 80s, I was more into the modern rifles like ARs... oh man, I just remembered they also had racks of US M1D with cheek pads and scopes for $400. Damn I wish I bought some then.

That is a nice and rare collectable variant of the Mosin. However that fact does not render more common variants of the same rifle as "typical Soviet junk".

                              Very good acquisition. Congratulations.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.
