Looks great! Have you actually gone through each ammo and sorted by headstamp? You might have some USGI in the mix. I sort mine according to headstamp and keep only the brass from 1973 and earlier due to case head design change.

No I haven't but I plan to. Thanks for the tip on sorting.

I ordered my 10 cases of HXP from the CMP on March 30 and it showed up today. Headstamps I saw were 1976 - 1978. This is the good stuff.

Now that's how you order from CMP. I staggered my order but now I'm wondering why I didn't just order my yearly limit at once.

Btw, anyone know if it's a calendar year limit or a rolling 12 mo limit?

None of the KA or PS is magnetic. All of the TW is. I bought it assuming that it would be non-magnetic per the description. I do plan on using it as plinking ammo and saving the cases for reloading.

What is the best way to clean the rounds? They are quite grimy.

Does your ammo look like it was linked? As in machine gun linked.
I bought some from Turners and it was linked at one time.
I have some Never Dull lying around and it works very good.
Just a pain because its all done by hand.

The KA appears to have been linked. The PS and TW doesn't, and those aren't nearly as grimy. There was actually a single link left in the can.

What year is the TW? They are USGI and are good shooting if post corrosive years. Be careful with that Korean ammo as some had blown rifles in the past.

I still don't get why people buy the Korean ammo where you can get the HXP which is a better ammo and cheaper too from CMP.

Some ka 72 is copper ,some steel. All looks to have been linked.
All my ka73 is steel. Looks to have been linked.
Also got some ka67 copper. It doesn't look to have been linked.
As far as cleaning it, I haven't, and I don't think I will. I shot it looking dirty ( tarnished) with out any problems. It won't blow up.
