Selling C&R Mosin Question

My father is selling his 1942 Mosin Nagant, import marked courtesy of CAI. What are the requirements to sell to another private party individual? Just cash, right?

Just Cash. Might want to write up something for the other person to sign stating they are legally able to own a firearm. Not required though.

You have to make a reasonable attempt to determine they can legally own a firearm, I usually get a black & white copy of their CDL and have them write on it that they are not prohibited.

From possessing a firearm. Most of my transactions have been with folks I know but for those that I didn't, I had them write out and sign that they are not prohibited from possessing a firearm.

He needs to make sure the buyer is at least 18 years of age and a California resident. (I'm assuming your father is a California resident.)

We should also be clear that all of this changes 1/1/14
Then the transaction needs to go thru a 01FFL ( or to a collector with a 03FFL and COE)

So if he is going to sell it do it before Jan 1
