Put a Chinese Honor Guard SKS In Jail Today

So, after saying I was maxed out on SKS rifles, this Honor Guard SKS shows up in the marketplace. I offered the seller his asking price and we did the DROS today.

The rifle is absolutely gorgeous. I knew what to look for and everything is correct. All matching, and everything is chrome except the receiver. The seller bought it new without the bayonet so that is the only downside.

The rifle appears to be new and has no wear or dings, nothing. There is actually still some cosmoline in the bolt and receiver.

The correct leather sling with chrome buckles, manual, oil bottle, and matching CoA are also there. It still had the unused cleaning kit in the buttstock too.

Overall, I'd say it was a good day. Here are some quick cell phone pictures. I will post up more when I get it out of jail.

Not going to shoot it. It will be encased in a hermetically sealed glass container and buried under my porch.

          Gorgeous! Damn I am jealous

I think you should put a tactical stock on it and a hi powered NC Star scope.

Got it. The Seller had it saved in a plastic sleeve since new and it matches the gun.

Somebody has a real bad addiction and I'm to blame. Bobby, you did it again..."Good job!" I'll catch up with you when I win the lottery.

That rifle does look really nice Bobby. Seriously, do you plan on taking her out on the range to see how she fires or keep it as is for collector value (I hope)?

Nah, I won't shoot it. It will sit in the back with the 'Security Forces' SKS and the Albanian. Thanks Man, I never thought I would get one of these. Next stop, maybe a North Korean, maybe an East German DDR?

I don't even have a Romanian... gotta get one of those now.

PEOPLE! STOP SELLING RIFLES TO ME!!!!!!

Sure the people would trip out on that but, if you just piece one together and have the parts chromed people would still be tripin'.

Personally, it's collector value would then take a good hit.

Bobby, When you get a chance look for signs on the bolt face for pitting. That will tell you they fired it with corrosive ammo. And of course just normal chamber and barrel wear. You know what to do.

I gave the rifle a pretty good once over during the PPT, was surprised to see some dried cosmoline in the usual places. The bolt face looked brand new and I couldn't find any evidence that the rifle had ever been fired.

Honestly I have never shot an SKS at a range. We always go to the desert for unlimited and unregulated fun with the Mosins and SKS's. I would never pay the premium prices for brass x39 ammo. So there would be no audience at all.....

I bought another rifle from Swisswaffen last year and he told me about this one when I was looking for an SKS. I didn't want to buy it because I can only afford one SKS, unlike you ;-) and it had to be a shooter. I knew if I bought an SKS that pretty, I could never shoot it.

I ended up with my '55 Tula with the blonde stock and have been very happy with it, GREAT shooter. But it doesn't look as sweet as your new addition, nice score.

Yup Swisswaffen is a solid guy. I'd do business with him anytime. And I sold other guns (Not SKS's) to fund this one because it is a 'special' one.
