    .45 Cal Muzzleloader Pistol -GONE-

    Hello All,
This is a .45 caliber muzzleloader pistol with a 5-1/2 inch long octagon barrel that has never been fired. Built from some kind of a kit about 20-25 years ago. Excellent job on the assembly. Looks Great. Includes some Speer .445 round balls and a nice sheath that fits the pistol. Would like to trade for some Ruger Factory 20 round magazines (kits) for either a Mini 14 or Mini 30. Would also trade for some rifle ammo. I understand these are a lot of fun to shoot !

    What do you have ?

    SOLD: THANK YOU BIGBOSSMAN

That looks a lot like the one my father gave me, I am not sure what it is though.

Mine was also built from a kit some time ago, my father ordered it from a catalog.
Mine says THOMPSON CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE on the barrel.

It looks like somebody did decent job on the kit, it has the standard potmetal caplock common to many of the kit guns.

The kits cost $80-$100 back then. I have seen them selling on eBay recently broken up into parts in separate auctions going for a bit more than that.

Damn, I should have brought mine and had you look at them. I didnt know there was going to be any BP, I guess I should have asked. It would have been fun to fire them again.
I dont have any powder or balls. No balls

I just casted a bunch of balls in .454 and .490. so I have plenty of balls.

2F powder, Pyrodex and Triple 7 as well. I brought my .50 rifle, but I have been having ignition problems with it. I think I need to get some different caps.

I would be interested if you were closer.

CVA and Traditions marketed some kits like yours quite a while ago. Have you taken it apart to see if there are any proof marks on the barrel or mfg's name? My guess is it that's a CVA, Spanish import. Just a guess.

Actually, I was the one who finished building it. That is how I know it was never fired. I don't believe there were any numbers or markings on it and if there were they would be hidden under the wood somewhere. I just don't see myself getting into shooting it and should pass this along to somebody who wants it. Would gladly trade it for some Ruger Factory 20 round magazines for either a Mini-14 or a Mini-30. Or cash ?
