Help..stuck M1 Garand trigger assembly

Don't know if this is the right place to post but I have a stuck trigger assembly(pic included). I was trying to put back together the trigger group but couldn't get the pin in for the trigger and spring. Ended up using a clamp and cocked the hammer. Now the whole thing is stuck. I tried to pull the pin from the hammer hoping it would release but it's just stuck. Any help would be appreciated. If not, I'll have to find a gunsmith to see if they can do anything. Definitely getting an education on my first Garand.

Looks like the whole plunger assy. is jammed in place underneath the hammer. If you can get the plunger assy. out, then the hammer should free up. The hammer is also caught under the front hooks.

Put your trigger assembly in a bench vise. You can use a punch to try to line up the trigger pin holes and the hammer pin holes. Once those pins are in, you should be gtg.

Go to the CMP website and download the disassembly/reassembly info.

Common mistake for new owners when reassembling a Garand TG is the last step to line up the small pin. Never us a clamp or tool other than your thumb to try to line up the holes. Forcing it to line up with a clamp will cause this situation.

Wear a safety glasses and try to pry the hammer out of the jam and it should all come apart. If you did not bend anything by using a clamp, you will be able to put it back together.

Ended up taking a dremel to the hammer spring. That allowed some movement and I was able to get the hammer out and everything came apart. Some minor scratches but I ordered a new spring. Live and Learn. Thanks for all the help.

Yeah I've been following the garandgear site and bought a bunch of things from them. I just had a hard time getting it all fit in together.
