    Century Arms order delay

Well that was frustrating. I ordered a spam can of 7.62X54r and a Chinese Type 53 in good condition from Century Arms on April 16th. I hadn't heard anything from them in a while so I asked for a status order update through there help desk a week ago. Still nothing. I called yesterday and the sales desk couldn't find my name in the computer and then couldn't look it up by the order number I gave her. Finally, she transferred me to customer service who said that the ammo was out of stock and suggested I pick some up elsewhere if I could find it. He also said that they are going through all of their Type 53's and are mainly finding the fair/cracked stock versions so that's why I haven't got mine yet. Then they put to $1 charges on my credit card. Sorry, had to vent.

Century can be a challenge. I have had great luck with the items I have purchased from them, but getting the order process working has been frustrating for me also.

Over the years I have learned that if I order online, wait a few days and call customer service to make sure it's good to go.

    However, that doesn't always work either....I ordered 2 good-incomplete T-53's on 4/28.
Called 4/30 and was told all was good.
Still not charged by 5/14 so I called again. Was told that the order didn't go through but it would be taken care of. Got an email that day that the order was completed.
Still not charged by 5/17 so I called again and was told it was in shipping being packed up and should be on the way by Monday the 20th....

Kind of typical for Century, but if you want what Century has that's been the game for me. I'm not worried, I'll get my order eventually.

Now, dealing with Aim...I ordered a 91/30 hex on 5/16.
Got a tracking # on 5/17, and will be delivered on 5/23....= class act!

    Good luck!

I have ordered my Mosins from both Classic and AIM. Both are great and fast in shipping. My orders were processed with in a day and the rifles were sent out that day or the following day. Both ship UPS.
Due to my personal situation, I live in a complex, I prefer FedEx Ground. When a notice is left, I can go to the nearest FedEx facility. My UPS place has limited open hours.
I ordered 880 rds(2 spam cans) from Bulk Ammo.com-$215 + shipping. That was the cheapest I found. This was on Friday, 5/17.
Even though AIM and Classic ship only by UPS, I still would order from them again if I could arrange things with UPS.

Well, I figured I would take your advice and got a U Fix Em Type 53 and the U Fix Em M95/34 Hungarian Carbine. I'll post what I got if and when I get them. I figure my chances are better than with the Powerball.

I ordered 2 spam cans from USAC on the 16th for $216 shipped. I got a tracking notice from UPS on the 17th.

I've been thinking of getting an 03 FFL again, I used to love buying $19 U-Fix-Em's. I think I got all of my Vz-52's that way.

Do you mind telling me what Century's price and shipping was on the ammo, just so I can compare? Maybe it'll help nudge me along.

              THX.

Dude. I ordered two "U fix em" Chinese SKS in December, and they only got them shipped in April.

                They're swamped. Be patient.

Don't know how I missed from USAC. Still, I think I would have preferred as I did know I could go with FedEx shipping. Oh yea. The shipping with FedEx Ground is $38 to Calif. from Georgia.

The price for one spam can was $87.87 and shipping was $12.95. Or at least it would of been if they actually had it in stock.

You guys need to understand, Century is a importer. Their main clients are dealers. We are the small fish in the pond for them. When I place a order with them, I expect it to take a month or so, if I get it sooner than great but you need to expect the worse. With that said, if you wait it out, and dont piss them off, you will get some nice goodies.

I'm thinking that calling them is better than online orders and will get it sooner. I disagree that we are "small fish" though. We small fish purchase a lot too.
