I got Tula M44!
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.Tags: None -
pretty sure all m44s are round, hex is earlier. as for rarity, couldn't tell ya but i think most were izhevsk so it may be rare-er, but it's still a mosin, not a dinosaur bone. shoot it and love it unless some putz offers you a ton of money because it's "different"Comment

"Tula only made M44s in 1944 and these should be considered uncommon and purchased when found at the price of a typical Izhevsk M44" according to the experts over at http://7.62x54r.net
So not worth a whole lot more than an Izhevsk but potentially someday could be, and yes, the Tula will probably appreciate more than a comparable year Izhevsk.
Congrats. But I agree, go shoot it.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

In 1944, Tula produced ~100,000 M44s. The only Soviet production year rarer than 1944 Tula is 1943 Izhevsk.
FWIW I've still only seen one 44 Tula in person; I've looked through hundreds of M44s since 2007.
Those are pretty uncommon, but they do exist. Usually found on 1944 Tula or 1945 Izhevsk M44s.

No pics cuz it's still in Jail. something does make me feel uneasy about the shop though was I checked out the contets of the box a month ago and i thought I had a another one that appears never fired from the 1950's but I couldnt start the dros at the time and still be able to pick up in less than 30 days and now all of a sudden, every one of the four is a 1944 with a worn muzzle... maybe i'm being paranoid, but... i gotta go back and check...If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. I went back and checked, they didn't, turns out it was just bad lighting in the shop when I went back and checked. They have a really nice Arisaka type 99 on consignment that's been calling my name since I first picked it up. I'll post pics in a few days when I go to contact the seller of the ArisakaIf you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun.
