What fun!

Took the Mosin and M48 out to the range today. Wow what a great time.
I think I'm hooked on C&R. I did manage to plink the metal target out to 325 yards. Not all of the time of course but enough to make it known both are fairly accurate.

Good for you, I used to bring my Mosin out as an after thought when going shooting. Now I bring one of the 7 every time I go, I open the safe, look at all the guns and I always hear that russian voice, comrade, take me. I have a few spam cans full of ammo, so.......shooting them is only the price of admission.

At least one Mosin always goes with me to the desert shoots.

There may or may not be a pending shortage or drying up of Mosin supplies, but there DEFINITELY would be one if more people knew how much fun those guns are to collect and shoot.

taking the M-44 and the SKS shooting this next sunday. both cheap to shoot. leaving the mini 14 home i only have 150 rounds of 223. no mater they are more fun to shoot anyway.

I've started taking a Mosin out every time I shoot. The ammo is cheap and the recoil is satisfying. We usually finish our outing with a couple of clips each followed by a cylinder or two of the .44 revolver. Nice way to end a desert session.

I did the same with my new (to me) Mosin and also M48 3-4 months ago, and I know what you mean about your shoulder hurting. Especially after shooting some Turkish loads through the M48. I wasn't sure that either of them would actually work, and was surprised at how well they did and how much fun they were to shoot. Now I want to add to the C&R collection.

Slip-on rubber recoil pads work wonders.

Shooting from positions other than bench rest helps a lot, too, once the rifle is zeroed in.

Anyone try these bolt on recoil pads? Seems to look a heck of lot more comfortable. I know the the Mosin Czar will frown on me for not being man enough, but good lord I hurt...lol
