Erma .22LR Mauser 98 conversion kit

Would these be considered legally firearms under GCA 68 and CA law? They did serialize these units, but they also do not have a trigger mechanism. Also, would they qualify as C&R long guns if they are indeed classified as firearms?

I don't think they would be considered firearms since it's just the bolt and barrel. If it came with a receiver, though, I think it would be different.

    Just speculating here though.

In a way they do have a receiver as the bolt insert acts as a receiver for a smaller bolt for the rimfire cartridges in this conversion kit, but I'm trying to picture how this is different from a handgun conversion slide or a .22 dedicated upper.

However, this unit can't be fired without a host rifle as there is no trigger mechanism, that is handled by the host Model 98 rifle it's inserted into.

I think because there is no trigger mechanism, you should be G2G.
