    .30 Carbine Ammo

I got a message today from MidwayUSA that they have some .30 Carbine ammo now. It's Federal Powershok with standard specs; about $20 for a box of 20 rounds. Interesting, because they have been out of almost everything for months and still are.

This price is too high, and I plan to wait for things to settle out. I have a few hundred rounds of this caliber on hand. I'd like more, but at a buck every time you squeeze the trigger, that's a bit pricey.

Sorry, limit 10 boxes per customer.

Yeah, a lot of stuff including .30 carbine ammo remains pretty much unavailable. The Powershok, and Hydroshock (or whatever the other carbine self defense rounds are called), is rather pricey stuff. Not something you want to go through several 30 round magazines. It's the kind of thing where you want to shoot a few rounds to see how it functions in your carbine and where it is hitting at reasonable home defense range, and have a couple magazines full set aside in case you need it.

I have 2 Winchesters, 2 Rock-Olas, an Inland, an IBM, and a Standard Products, and would like to once again be able to get affordable quantities of ammo to feed them. But since my AK's and SKS's are my first line rifles and I picked up a pile of 7.62X39 before sanity went down the toilet, I too will wait for things to normalize a little more.

The need to feed the carbine was the main reason I started reloading 15 years ago. No shortage at my place.

You need to sign up on the CMP Forum and get on their mailing list. They recently had 4000 cans that they sold. 1350 rds per can, price was $520 per can. If you didn't want that much, you could have split the order with someone.

Ya might have to wait a bit.
          But the price ain't bad.
I bought 500 rds a few months ago right around election time, think I'll get in line for 500 more right now.

I reloaded .30 carbine for decades with bullets I cast myself, pennies a round.
