believe me I love the original Mosin's as well, I just got the itch to build this one. It wasn't the prize it is now when I started.

by the way I do have another Mosin as well

Nicely done. Looks very nice indeed. Can't argue with the accuracy either!

Everything is nice about it, good job. I'm presently working on tricking out my M39. Who did your barrel. Very under rated rifle and hated by lots.

What's the barrel length on that build, not counting the muzzle break?

@ Rickrock1: There is a gunsmith that lives right around the corner from me. He shortened, threaded, & recrowned the barrel as well as removed the sights and re blued the entire gun in a matte black

@ Army GI: The over all barrel length is 16.1" plus muzzle brake

Why did you go with such a short barrel? Why not 20 to 22 inches?

A 16" barrel 7.62 should be good to about 300 yards without too much drop.

While I cannot condone Bubbaing, that is a very nice job and the rifle seems like it shoots well. Cheers!

did you put the bubbaed bolt in this for the pic, or did you have the bolt chromed?

I'd want to shoot surplus ammo most of the time. I imagine even light ball has way too slow a powder to do well with a barrel that short.

You'd have to handload with some pretty fast rifle powder to get consistent results.
