    MO Stamped mosin?

I bought this "MO" stamped mosin from aim, looks more like a "VO",
Any idea what VO is, or is it just a worn down "MO"

No.. that is what the MO looks like. There are a few different "fonts" i have seen. my Nagant revolver has that some look.

What is more interesting to me.. is that a 1939 with a hex receiver? Might want to check the tang on that one. I believe they stopped using the hex in 1936 for tula... 35 for izhevsk.

Just a bad M from the machine that stamped it. Cheap machines and rounded barrels don't mix.

Maybe the guy that stamped it accidentally flipped the 6 stamp upside down

Yes, it is a rare 1 of 64 million mosin rifle and you cannot put a price on hysterical collectability

That one actually is rare, or at the least very uncommon. First, it looks to be a double date MO...uncommon there.

Plus, it's a 39 built on a hex receiver...they stopped producing hex receivers midway through 1936. 91/30s built off recycled receivers do happen, but that is also uncommon.

Put the two together and you have a very uncommon rifle. Congrats on that one.

Yea that is an unusual one there.

In addition 1939 Mosin would typically have a letter prefix to the serial

Looks like a scrub and a restamp. Notice the 3's are all the same font.

What is the second date - 1939/?
Take the action out and look at the tang date for sure
