Century Chinese Type 53 range report

Took 3 of these out today and fired them, they are shooters for sure. They all shot high/left from 3-5 inches and I attribute this to the bayonet not being extended. That said they were excellent shooters once Kentucky aim adjusted. The real treat was once I got home and cleaned the barrels agian I realized why. They are mirror barrels! All three!! These are the century good condition ones that were on special. The stocks are what makes them good condition but the metal is excellent on these. Sure when they arrive they will be dirty (literally dirt), greasy, and maybe even a light bit of rust. These things clean up great. If you have been on the fence, hit, and hit hard on these. If I had the cash I'd buy another 6 in a jiff.

I got one, too. The stock cleaned up good and the bore is flawless!

I got one, but they only had cracked stock and bottom part is missing. Were you able to get good condition with good stock?

Ones ordered were good condition cracked stock but none were cracked, just beat to hell with gouges and what not. Hell-of-a-deal IMO. Just be cautious of the "fair" conditions that are being passed off as good by second party distributors.

I might have to try my luck again. The stock has some interesting cartouches under the barrel, so I think I'll just try a simple fix for my broken one.

Century won't ship to C&R holders? I am trying to get set up on their site, but if that's the case I won't bother.

Century? They can ship to 03FFL, but you have to be added to their system.

this. It takes a long time though. The computer will HOLD your order as an 03 FFL from CA until someone manually exempts you from the CFCL program. I had an order delayed 4 weeks because of this.

Yeah, it takes them a long time to get your account setup. Just keep calling them and eventually they will get around to it. My 03 is finally on file with them, but my online account still doesn't work so I just ordered by phone.

I kept getting an error message when trying to register my 03 online with Century. I sent them my license as an attachment. Congrats OP on the fine shooters.
