That is a very sweet short rifle!

I picked one up a while back, but I then traded it. I wish I had not.

have an '06 Carl Gustaf that's sporterized, and also an 1898 Oberndorff model 96, which you don't see a lot of. both are stupidly accurate and neither have matching bolts. don't get hung up on semantics. most of these old rifles are inherently accurate unless the bores are total trash or they were run over by a tank and bent. there are some exceptions but for the most part, especially swedes are disgustingly good shooters. especially once you handload and learn what your rifle likes.

          Thanks, KH

I've been on the lookout for an 1898 M96...as you know there weren't many made and they aren't easy to find. It would be cool to own an antique M96.

I've got an 1899 Gustaf and an 1900 Obendorf, but there is something special about an 1898 M96

Post some pics of them when you get a chance.

I've worked up a load for my Swedish Ljungman and will probably try it in my bolt guns.

Nice Swede's. I sold most of mine last year but I have been digging around for some of my bayonet and accessories collection. Not poaching your post just showing some gear.

These used to be $20 at lots of vendors but a quick check for a new one was a shock at $75 to $95 on some sites w/out frog.

I made a quick trip to the range today and fired a few rounds through the new M38. The orange targets aren't ideal for my eyes, but here 4 rounds of Prvi 120 gr "match" ammo (all I had left) at 100 yards.

I think I could do better with a different target and handloaded ammo.
