he is retired and works out of his home in san gabriel. i love to go over to his house and look and listen. one time he was fixing a war capture k 98 sniper a guy had from his father in ww 2. he gets good money for his guns but also will help you out with info and parts. he is not money motivated. he will trade and cash and carry on C&R.

yeah i've bought a couple things from him at the shows over the years, pretty nice guy. prices always seemed reasonable, with a few exceptions but let's face it, nobody wants to sell and lose money, so it's fair enough. he actually sold me some ammo once for a rifle i'd bought at another booth, lol, he also offered to buy the rifle off me. good times.

It's not just California, and it's not just gun stores. Locally owned sporting goods stores and pet shops like I prefer are drying up too. Everything is going the way of big box and Internet. It's too bad.

i have a small auto repair shop, been at the same location for 22 years. one tech has been with me almost the whole 22 years. i do not advertise and have very good reviews on yelp. but it is hard to compete with BS advertising from pep boys, and the big tire stores. they can give you a oil change for a loss at 19 bucks and screw you on something else. you will see very few small privately owned auto repair shops in the future. at least in so cal.
