Springfield Sporters.
I have never been disappointed with their parts.

Is the barrel cut down (very common for sporters)? Also has it been drilled and tapped for a scope?

Photos would really help here.
Depending on what has been done to it, it may or may not be restorable.
Another consideration is the barrel date, if it is still there and legible. An original WW1 barrel on a restorable rifle might justify the extra effort and expense to return it to WW1 configuration, but if it was rebarreled for WW2 you have a lot more leeway with which parts to use, such as a Ww2 stock.Comment
