    Request to DOJ

I got to wondering why a CCW permit (LTC) didn't have the same privileges as a COE. So II sent the question to CA DOJ.
I realize that a COE is much easier to obtain for many in CA, but why pay more in fees if we don't have to. (That there is probably the reason, more fees for DOJ)

    Question regarding 03FFL.
In CA, possession of an C&R 03FFL along with a COE (Cert of Eligibility) allows the 03FFL holder to take possession of C&R firearms (including handguns) without 10 day wait. It also exempts 1 in 30 day purchase restriction.
Here's the question. What would it take to make changes in CADOJ requirements for those with an 03FFL and CCW to have the same privilege as the COE? CCW holders require the same Live Scan and screening process, probably more scrutiny.

Let me know if there is anything I can do going forward to help make changes in the requirement, to allow CCW equal to COE.

Wouldn't the answer be "a law passed by the legislature and signed by the governor?

    Good luck with that.

Heck, let's just tell them to change it so those of us with a COE can automatically CCW... that would be a nice change!!

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Nice knowing you, Mickey. The CA DOJ just turned your name over to the FBI as an armed and violent radical.

I make a single trip to the UPS store once a year and use the fingerprint service three times for three separate permits - that all go to the DOJ.

If they kept a database, it might help, I guess.

Paying individually for each one, it is annoying, it is bureaucracy, but it is the only way to keep it legal.

Thankfully when I started I applied for them all within a week of each other, so it is fairly straightforward to renew.

I can get by without the COE, I just find no sense in that someone that is allowed carry concealed and literally walk into a gun store with a gun on their hip, has to wait 10 days and 1 in 30 dealer purchase.

I know, it's government bureaucracy and will never make sense.
