HELP! with Steyr M95 Extraction issues!

SOLVED, LOOK AT POST 16

Hey CG'rs,

I have a Steyr M95 I had some questions on. I searched a bit and found out that the extractor is a known failure point on these things. After taking my M95 apart, cleaning it, and inspecting it, I realized my extractor is not broken, but it fails to eject the spent casing. ANy ideas?

Also, I have no idea where or who made this thing... Has only an "H" marking. Please help, thanks.

It fails to eject the casing once it has been pulled all the way back (with the extractor).

The "H" indicates that this was converted from 8X50r to 8X56r by the Hungarians, not the Austrians. Austrians, being a lost tribe of Germans, speak German and marked their converted rifles with "S".

It sounds like you might have ejector problems instead of extractor problems. I don't have any of these rifles any more, so don't remember how the ejector is set up.

I knew that H was stamped on the shanks of Yugo models. But I have never heard of that on normal models Austrian or Hungarian models.

The stock has some weird initials carved in. I posted pics in my first post. Besides the "H" there are no other markings anywhere.

It is called the M90/31.

Think I found some info! Although my front sights are not the same as the ones shown in that link.

Yeah, I have some 8x56r ammo for it, some is Nazi marked. Any ideas on the ejecting issue?

Good find! That is what yours is. The M95/31. I was convinced it was a M90, but the M95/31 has the same stock marks as yours.

As for your ejecting problem, it might be that yours needs a part replaced ad Marcus suggested.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is that the bolt is for an older model such as the full length infantry rifle M90 or M95, both used a smaller caliber.
