Hey I have an opportunity to snatch a 1893 Mauser. My question is 1. isnt 1893 not a regulated gun or is that just a model? 2. if it is a regulated gun does it no longer become a C&R if it has been changed into a sporter? thanks

Anything pre 1898 is an antique and I believe is "unregulated". Probably just the model, Spanish Mauser."These surplus guns are cool not because they go Pew, but because where and when they have Pew'd"

1893 is the year that model was designed. To be antique, the actual date of manufacture of that particular rifle needs to be 1898 or earlier. Might need more info.
