Bought Korean ammo from Wideners. Exactly 1/3 was magnetic.

Widener's Reloading and Shooting Supply has ammo and reloading supplies for sale at cheap prices. Find out why we're the best deal on the web today!

Just do a Google search, quite a few horror stories.

how would you know? You'd have to actually leave the house and shoot it...

nah, don't do that. There are some sourpusses on the board, and they never miss an opportunity to smack down someone based on the little they (the sourpusses) know.

korean ammo ain't the best stuff, it may have problems, but keep posting ammo finds. Some will be good, some not so much, but don't let the sourpusses keep you down. The rest of us appreciate it!

KA head stamp Korean '06 is the nastiest corrosive ammo I've had the misfortune to shoot. It's accurate and it all goes bang, but don't waste any time cleaning your rifle afterwards.

Trickster -- " korean ammo blow up"
I did the google -- found one substantiated instance of a case head splitting and several second hand references to "blow up" but no first hand accounts of accidents -
perhaps you were more successful in your search?

My understanding of Korean M2 ball (correct me if I'm wrong) is:

-KA headstamped ammo is corrosive but there have been no reports of the stuff blowing up rifles.

                - PS headstamped ammo is not corrosive but some lots have weak cases, which has apparently caused some kaboom incidents.

I came across this list on Arfcom. It may be of help:

Moderators might consider tacking this thread, it is very informative to us Garand shooters. This comes from another list, good luck and keep'em shooting!PS 2-027 (one positive report based on unknown

I've fired a few hundred rounds of lot PS-2-127 and had no issues, FWIW.

Most all the ammo I saw was de-linked and a bit dirty. I cleaned some up using Never Dull just for kicks and they cleaned up nice. Just add elbow grease. Most looked like KA from the Turner's last sale.

Same here. Ammo had a bit of a gummy residue on it - cleaned up just fine and no problems at the range.
