I'll stick with the HXP, it's still cheaper.

        Sold out.

I'm gonna buy all the Greek stuff I can when the CMP finally runs out of that I'm hoping they will be able to cut a deal with PPU or another manufacturer and are able to offer a better price.

They've said all along that they'll contract with somebody to make M1 safe .30-06 in quantity although it will obviously be more expensive than the current surplus.

I seriously doubt it will be PPU. Probably Hornady (CMP already sell their match ammo) or Federal.

that's not too bad a price per round, although adding shipping would make it less so. right now obviously isn't the best time to start reloading, but it's gonna make alot more sense in the coming years. and not just for price, but availability as well.

guess I'll wait until there's no more surplus ammo available then buy up everyone's unshootable garands at bargain rates

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Whats the current ammo turnaround at CMP? Does anyone know? Faster than rifle turnaround I would think.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

One thing PPU has going for them is that they do make a proper 150gr FMJ flat based spitzer bullet. While they are not super consistent in size, they are very close to the original M2 bullet and non magnetic. They actually do really well at 200 yds.

Not so far... Put an order in about a month and a half ago and I'm still sitting in "pending" hell. Just got the rifle yesterday, and had hoped the ammo would accompany it but no such luck.

Fortunately it is one of my reload calibers and I have plenty of makings, so I've already loaded up a couple of hundred for starters.

6 weeks doesn't sound too bad given the market. Thanks for the update.

the standard load is pretty much 46-48 grains of IMR4895 and a 150.

master po lists 49. but YMMV.

I can't say that I've shot that, and I'm sure it's safe. but I've had great accuracy with 46. always work up per batch of powder, but 46 is always a great load and well within limits.

there are several powders listed for the garand, but as a rule, go IMR4895. and if you can't find IMR4895, then use IMR4895

H4895 and AA2495 work well at 47gr, IMR 4064 works well at 48gr.
