Where have all the Hornets gone?!

Set back and rechamber the M43 to hornet or better yet just stock the 43 and shoot it --
The bee is a little more powerful than the hornet and although brass is available it can be made from both 25/20 and 32/20
I just loaded a batch of bee yesterday for my m43, both jacketed and cast bookits.

I did consider that option but I decided I'd rather get into the hornet than the bee. I wish my m43 barreled action was a hornet instead of a bee.
If you know I anyone willing to trade a m43 bee barreled action for a partial trade on a hornet, let me know.

If you want versatility at low cost, why not buy a Savage Axis in .223 at Big 5 and work up a reduced handload that matches 22 Hornet ballistics? It would be like having 2 guns for the price of 1.

BTW, SVT-40, that BRNO is drop-dead gorgeous. But I'm sure it's worth JUST A BIT MORE than a Savage Axis w/ scope, too.

I hear ya on the .223 but I have reasons that compel me to do this in .22 hornet.
I am also looking for a carbine length TC Encore barrel to do work in thy caliber, but that's just a matter of finding the right trade to trade my 44 Mag barrel for a 16" carbine barrel.

Most the fun is in figuring out the setup and working up loads. Once that's done, it goes in the safe and just sits there...

I have 12" custom .22 KHornet barrel for TC Contender, very nice cartridge and quite easy to handload, basically all that's needed is fire forming regular .22 Hornet. If you have Contender, there are barrels on E-bay and other places all the time.
As far as ammo, I bought couple of boxes of different brands of .22 Hornet at Sportsmen Warehouse a few months ago.

Find a H&R or a NEF. I have a NEF Handi-Rifle in 22 Hornet it's a tack driver.

I'm interested in the Hornet as well. I've come close to buying a Brno several times but have been talk down from the ledge, primarily because parts are no longer available for the 465.

CZ chambers ~3 of their rifles in hornet, it's still a popular round in Europe.

Look into the "K" mod. Basically the chamber gets reamed, and the resulting fire formed brass will endure many more reloads than the standard .22 Hornet.

I'm familiar with the K hornet and may decide to go that route eventually, but I'd like to start with the standard hornet.

A cz would be nice. But for me, it's the price of entry that is prohibitive.
