Do you need to send the renewal form in, or do they send you a letter for renewal? Thanks in advance.

Knowing the Govt is cutting back and I dont know how many personnel handling the 03's in that dept, with hundreds or thousands of applications to ge through manually, it would be best for you to send in the application rather than see if they notify you. I would assume they would not. I worked for various Fed govt agencies; USPS, DOD and VA and am familiar how it operates.
I may be wrong.

They will send you a green renewal envelope with the white renewal notice. Not really sure the C&R is worth it after the end of the year. Even if it is, it might be worth considering just applying for a new one and letting the old one lapse. It will keep your record keeping liabilities down. New licence, fresh start, new record. Just my $0.02.

Just renewed mine, after they sent the green envelope prior to expiration.

Also just got my new COE. I'm ready to go for 2014.

if you want to renew it, don't wait for them to send you anything. I never received anything and missed a bunch of deals while I was waiting for a new license to be issued.

Min e expires soon. Only used it to buy one rifle OTC, other than that not a big saver for me. But they day I ditch it I will wish I had it!
