250-325 give or take. Good, solid, and well built rifles but since they don't have the historic collectors value (which IMO they are) they are not like their older 98k brothers with Nazi chickens on them.

What ammo is it? Is it surplus (if so, what country)? Or is it commercial stuff?

Depends on the ammo. The rifle itself would probably go for $250 to $350 depending on condition.

I guess its up to the buyer then. I have shot a lot of Turkish ammo and although most of it shot fine, I did have occassional duds.

yeah with the later production ammo i have had those issues, but with the 37 ammo out of 400 rds only 2 misfires so its works good. I also have a butt load of extra stripper clips and a few spring kits to go with it. and a extra mag plate with spring and follower.

sold my M-48 with all the goodies and 200 rounds for 300 bucks about 3 months ago. i kind of sold it to cheep. paid 300 at big 5 only a few months before. it was a early 1950 M-48 all machined parts and matching. the only NEG was the wood was very rough and dark. no cracks but it could give you a splinter. the Mauser crowd treats the M-48 as a ugly sister. it is maybe the best Mauser made.

The rifle itself is easily worth $300, and the ammo I'd say $100, but most people would offer you $300-$350.

                  Great guns, especially for handloaders.

I got an est. on mine from a collecter, sounds like its in the same shape as yours, $250-300. If your looking to make money his advice was to hold onto it, value will go up as the end of the year gets closer and cash and carry becomes illegal. My advice is to keep it and shoot it, fun gun and gotta love the bayo attached.
